  • Antioch AME Church in Stone Mountain will honor DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson and other elected women during a Women’s History Month celebration on Sunday, March 22 at 10 a.m. at 765 S.   • A local group is urging the Historic Preservation Commission to study a sacred plot near Trinity West Place — which holds ties to the Muskogee Creek Nation and enslaved workers.   • On Monday, a tornado warning hit and the school district in DeKalb County delayed its Facebook alert until nearly 6:30 a.m.—leaving some students at bus stops—and parents strongly criticized the decision.  FOX 5 Atlanta
  • A risk assessment found the 525 W. Howard Ave. building, former SoulShine Decatur daycare, too hazardous for an Early Childhood Learning Center alternative because of hazards from a nearby railroad + gas station + high-voltage corridor, and SoulShine leaders said they were surprised since their lease runs through April.  Decaturish

  • DeKalb County is set to join mediation to address a failed swap that threatened 40 acres of Intrenchment Creek Park to be developed as a data center. The mediation may return the park to public use & restore community access after a decision by a previous administration.  The Champion
