- ➤ Delores Burgess fulfilled her dream by opening The Brio Theater on Hugh Howell Road in Tucker in January with her husband Gary. - ➤ A bill to restrict cellphone use for high school students cleared a hurdle at the state Capitol and awaits a Senate vote. If passed, the existing K-8 rules will extend to high schools starting in 2027-28. Atlanta News First

- ➤ The DeKalb County Beautification Unit announced scrap tire amnesty events on March 21 and 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the tax commissioner's office, where residents may dispose of up to 10 tires as staff manage disposal + traffic control to curb illegal dumping and lower environmental risks. - ➤ On March 16, the city awarded a $194,013 contract to Tidwell Traffic Solutions to replace the flawed WatchFest’26 mural at Church and Sycamore streets and upgrade five downtown crosswalks. - ➤ DeKalb County is joining mediation to reverse a swap that allowed 40 acres of Intrenchment Creek Park to be threatened by a planned data center (a move linked to a decision by the previous administration), as county officials work to restore the park for public use. The Champion
