  • Saving Our Sisters mentoring program partners with the DeKalb County Public Library to host its 4th annual prom dress giveaway next weekend. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wesley Chapel-William C. Brown Library in Decatur.  FOX 5 Atlanta

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local groups plan several Easter egg hunts and activities for children in the county this week - First Baptist Church Decatur will host a hunt on March 28, and a local park will feature a unique helicopter egg drop while churches also offer special services.  The Champion
  • Arts DeKalb launched on Mar. 12 at Metro City Church near Callanwolde Fine Arts Center to advise county leaders on boosting cultural and artistic programs. The council, created by an executive order, has appointed four-year term members (including new executive director Stephanie Raines).  The Champion

EDUCATION NEWS

  • DeKalb County Schools released a list Friday showing schools that might close or change amid declining enrollment. The proposal, based on community feedback, indicates that Fairington, Oakview, and the Early Learning Center may be repurposed while public surveys and meetings run through April 12.  Atlanta News First

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Brian Kemp signed two bills Friday that will suspend the gas tax for 60 days + offer a one-time income tax rebate of up to $500 for residents. The new measures aim to ease rising costs and provide financial relief.  Atlanta News First
