  • On Saturday, hundreds gathered at No Kings rallies in Decatur, Snellville and other suburbs to show support for local concerns; organizers in Snellville said about 400 people attended — marking a growing movement.  WSB-TV

  • Decide DeKalb announced that its new online DeKalb Women-Owned Business Guide will showcase county businesses owned by women to help residents connect with local services. The guide will accept entries only from eligible businesses and be released on May 4 (submission details available).  The Champion

  • 12-year-old Sarv Dharavane, a 6th grader at Peachtree Middle School in Dekalb County, won his third state spelling bee title this week and qualified for the National Championship in Washington D.C. He competed through 23 rounds after his rival missed the word Okavango (securing the win with Aitchbone and Simal).  WSB-TV

  • Dominic Smith hit a walk-off grand slam in his Braves debut on Saturday at Truist Park to give the team a 6-2 win over the Royals. His 386-foot home run energized the crowd and set a promising tone for the season.  Atlanta News First
