  • Legacy Park will host Community Day today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 500 S. Columbia Drive, featuring sustainability exhibits, local arts, and plant sales plus a Spring Plant Sale and Open House by Trellis Horticultural Therapy Alliance.  The Champion

  • Julie Semones, a retired teacher, and Susan Ray, an infectious disease physician from Decatur, will join Paddle Georgia 2026 — a 21st annual 95-mile kayaking event along North Georgia’s Coosawattee, Oostanaula, and Cartecay rivers finishing in Rome — set for June 14-20; registration closes May 30.  The Champion

  • Honda recalled 440,830 2018-2022 Odyssey minivans for safety concerns after a software error may cause unintended airbag deployment. Dealers will update the system at no cost while owners receive notification by mail after May 25.  WSB-TV

  • Commissioner Michelle Long Spears hosted the third annual State of DeKalb Animals address to update residents on animal welfare. She noted rising pet intake and adoptions in 2025 and outlined plans to expand free spay and neuter surgeries from 1,000 to 4,800 as part of a $13.8M budget.  The Champion
  • Local officials warn residents that a text message claiming an unpaid speeding ticket is fake and advise deleting it immediately.  WSB-TV
  • MARTA launches its NextGen Bus Network today with tripled high-frequency corridors and a new Rapid A-Line connecting downtown and Capitol Gateway (functioning like rail on rubber tires) while discontinuing some low-frequency routes; riders should check updated schedules online.  FOX 5 Atlanta
