  • Commissioner Michelle Long Spears hosted the third annual State of DeKalb Animals address, sharing updates on shelter statistics and announcing a $13.8 million budget that will expand free spay and neuter services and clinic hours.   • Decatur kayakers join the 21st Paddle Georgia event, running June 14-20 along the Coosawattee and Oostanaula rivers. The 95-mile trip organized by Georgia Rivers features a multi-river route & includes available scholarships for eligible participants.  The Champion
  • The Atlanta Hawks lost Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first-round playoffs to the New York Knicks on Saturday, 113-102. CJ McCollum led with 26 points + the Knicks pulled ahead in the second half, and Game 2 is scheduled for Monday.  Atlanta News First
