ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ DeKalb County firefighters battled a large fire early Wednesday morning that destroyed a tire shop and auto body repair shop near Rockbridge Road and Hamburg Road—no injuries were reported and investigators are working to determine the fire’s cause. FOX 5 Atlanta

- ➤ The fifth annual WigWag Art and Music Festival will take place on May 2 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Avondale Estates Arts District, featuring live music on two stages, over 60 art vendors, and a kid-friendly activity area. Decaturish

- ➤ The DeKalb County Commission approved a resolution at its April 28 meeting to urge county officials to adopt an Unhoused Support and Services Plan that outlines eight recommendations to improve help for those without stable housing & the plan will be integrated into the county’s comprehensive housing strategy. - ➤ MARTA is switching to a new tap-to-pay fare system to replace old Breeze cards while some riders remain confused over the change. Reduced-fare passengers will receive mailed cards as the old cards stop working Saturday (assistance is available at the Five Points station) and transfers can be made from May 5 to Oct. 30.
