  • On May 4, Ukrainian immigrants in Greater Decatur hosted Taste of Ukraine to raise $7,000 for a Kyiv hospital's medical equipment and to support Ukrainian defenders in the Russo-Ukrainian War.  Decaturish
  • Decatur city officials and DeKalb County leaders announced a new Watchfest event that will let fans watch World Cup matches at local pubs, restaurants, and public spaces next summer—planning coincides with soccer games at the Mercedes-Benz stadium.   • Marva Lynch filed a lawsuit against a Decatur mortuary — she says they put the wrong body in the casket for her grandmother Lucy Johnson, whose funeral cost nearly $9,000. The suit, filed on May 1 in DeKalb County State Court, alleges negligence, mishandling human remains and emotional distress while seeking repayment and punitive damages.  Fox 5 Atlanta
