- ➤ DeKalb County School District seniors got over $200 million in college scholarships as announced by Superintendent Devon Horton at graduation ceremonies held at Georgia State University’s Convocation Center—nearly 378% more than last year’s offers. - ➤ DeKalb County said EMS reached emergencies almost 3 minutes faster after a $3.8 million investment was made to hire more EMTs and add support staff—an effort that also included a $4.89 million subsidy to American Medical Response to increase ambulance coverage compared with before February 2024. The county added that two programs, HEALS and Nurse Navigator, were launched to help keep EMTs available for real emergencies. FOX 5 Atlanta
