- ➤ Avondale Estates City Commission approved a $20,033 contract to install five artistic bike racks funded by the GM Main Street Grant — and held its first reading on ordinances to annex and zone 3292 Mountain Drive. Wellroot Family Services plans to develop affordable housing and support services at the site — with a final vote on the ordinances set for July 23. Decaturish
- ➤ DeKalb County commissioners approved a 100-day moratorium on new data center projects in unincorporated areas to allow staff time to study effects on public safety and community welfare — county officials plan to draft updated ordinances before lifting the ban. - ➤ The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will hold a 2nd community open house to discuss the Fisher Trail Park Master Plan on Tuesday, July 15 from 6—7:30 p.m. at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Road in Decatur, and residents are encouraged to attend to offer input that will guide future park improvements.
