- ➤ Kroger closed its Atlanta store on Morosgo Way early this week — its last customer was served on Thursday. The Decatur store on Memorial Drive will close Sept. 13 as part of a plan to cut costs — impacted associates can transfer to new locations. Atlanta News First

- ➤ Police said a man was shot at Glen Hollow Apartments off Flat Shoals Parkway and taken to a hospital following the incident. Atlanta News First
- ➤ A hotel in Tucker has agreed to pay $6 million to Dashaundra Hill, a child sex trafficking survivor who said staff and owners ignored her abuse when she was trafficked nearly a decade ago—she accepted the settlement to help support her recovery and future plans. FOX 5 Atlanta

- ➤ City Schools of Decatur will reopen for classes on Thursday, July 31 at the end of July break as part of the new school year in north Georgia — several other districts in the area are set to start in early August. WSB-TV

- ➤ DeKalb County Watershed Management crews are at 33 Covington Road after a CEI fiber optic contractor broke a water main, leading to the isolation of 16-inch + 36-inch lines and causing water interruptions and traffic delays as motorists are asked to avoid the area. DeKalb County
- ➤ On July 10, over 1,200 people went to DeKalb County’s biggest job fair at the Georgia Piedmont Technical College Conference Center—113 interviews led to 11 job offers and many applicants advanced to further steps with county departments.
