- ➤ Decatur officials are auctioning 143 roadside planters today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Decatur Public Works—damaged units were sold on eBay and new ones start at $50 as a $1.9 million barrier will replace them later this summer. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

- ➤ A 15-year-old Arabia Mountain High football player, Mikah King, died after practice on July 22 when he suffered a medical condition—grief counselors were available on campus as the community mourned his loss. WSB-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ DeKalb County police found a man shot in his car at an apartment complex on Watling Lane on Thursday afternoon—officials say the incident is being investigated as a murder. WSB-TV
- ➤ A man was shot outside the DeKalb County fire station at 1712 Columbia Drive on Friday afternoon and is now in critical condition while investigators look into what may have been a fight elsewhere—no other injuries were reported. Atlanta News First
- ➤ DeKalb County police arrested a 61-year-old—Tangela Taylor—after a stabbing early Friday on Casa Linda Drive when an argument led her to stab another woman; the injured victim was taken to a nearby hospital and was awake. FOX 5 Atlanta
