- ➤ A ribbon cutting is scheduled for a new affordable housing community in Decatur — local officials say the event will mark an important milestone in the city's development. The ceremony will highlight efforts to add affordable homes for local residents. Atlanta News First
- ➤ DeKalb County Animal Shelter is evacuating over two dozen animals from overcrowded shelters by air to new homes in the Northeast as rising inflation drives more pet surrenders; Pilots To The Rescue will help transport the animals and the shelter aims to adopt out 20 pets by the end of today — a step to ease the pressure on the facility. - ➤ Metro Atlanta added more than 64,000 residents over the past year, bringing its total to about 5.3 million — Fulton County led with 18,800 new people while the region shows a shift in racial diversity. FOX 5 Atlanta
- ➤ The DeKalb County Commission approved a plan for a water bill amnesty program that will let income-qualified residents have some unpaid water bills forgiven while also reviewing debt in older condo areas.
