- ➤ Shiva Vereen, a man from Clayton County, was sentenced to life in prison plus five years consecutively for fatally shooting his friend Andrew Carpenter eight times over an unpaid loan outside DaBomb Sports Grill on Feb. 13, 2023—he was arrested in Texas with a fake dealership tag three weeks later, court records show. - ➤ Lithonia police said Mark Clark, 56, shot his 60-year-old brother and pistol-whipped his brother’s 51-year-old girlfriend in DeKalb County on Monday night—both were taken to the hospital—and he is considered armed and dangerous; investigators said he may be driving a tan Toyota Corolla or a gray Honda Odyssey with Georgia tag XMU922.
