  • DeKalb County’s Department of Planning and Sustainability released a study that shows the tree canopy in unincorporated areas increased from 58% to over 60% in the past decade — a growth that reduces air pollution, manages stormwater, and lessens urban heat — and the report used satellite imagery and GIS mapping to guide future urban forest policies.  The Champion
