- ➤ Decatur Parks and Recreation is drafting a master plan for Oakhurst Park — Sugar Creek Garden that may add new tennis, pickleball and sand volleyball courts, shift the softball and multipurpose fields, and expand parking and trails. - ➤ On Sept. 13, the free three-part series A Shakespeare Happening took place at Avondale Estates Town Green with musical shows for kids and sneak peek scenes from Macbeth. - ➤ DeKalb County elections officials announced a list of 10 early voting sites for October’s election cycle—voters can cast ballots in person from Oct. 14 to Oct. 31 with five sites offering ballot drop off boxes. The drop off sites include Berean Christian Church in Stone Mountain, Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, Dunwoody Library, Salem Panola Library, and Tucker-Reid H. - ➤ The Rockbridge Coalition is hosting a virtual meeting on Sept. 20, 10 a.m. to discuss concerns over a proposed data center in Ellenwood—residents can learn about its potential impacts since DeKalb County does not yet have clear zoning rules. On Common Ground News
