- ➤ The East Central DeKalb Community and Senior Center in Stone Mountain reopened on September 19 after repairs fixed damage from a July flood caused by a roof drain failure. - ➤ Gov. Brian Kemp announced on Friday that the Peach State welcomed 174 million visitors in 2024—marking the third straight year that Georgia broke its tourism record. Atlanta News First

- ➤ Georgia voters must register or update their address by Oct. 6—this is needed to vote in the local and special elections set for Nov. 4. U.S. citizens aged 17 1/2 or older can register by mail or online through the Secretary of State’s Office, but they must be 18 to cast a ballot. Atlanta News First
- ➤ Tributes poured in for former Judge Ronald B. Ramsey, Sr. who served as a DeKalb County judge and state senator until his death on Sept. 25 at age 66 after battling cancer. Leaders praised his role in creating Stonecrest and his lasting impact on local justice—he is survived by his wife Doris, son Ronald Jr., and daughter Christyn. On Common Ground News
