The Rosa Parks statue—designed by Decatur artist Julia Knight—was unveiled Friday at the Alabama State Capitol, with it showing Parks stepping onto a platform in a tribute to her courage.
State officials also dedicated a statue honoring Helen Keller during the same ceremony.

Decatur launched Electrify Decatur on Oct.
26 to help homeowners improve energy efficiency and switch to high-efficiency electric options — the free program features an online marketplace where local contractors offer energy audits, rebates, and financing tips to support the city's Clean Energy Plan — and aims to make electrification easier for residents.
