  • Decatur residents are concerned that the master plan for Oakhurst Park will shrink the dog park from 0.75 acres to 0.59 acres—many worry that less space will reduce off-leash play areas. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The DeKalb County DA office has restocked free gun safes and trigger locks after giving away hundreds at back-to-school events and is now offering these safety items to eligible gun owners from Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.—residents must be 21 or older and live in DeKalb County to receive an item at the courthouse in Decatur.  The Champion

  • Marist War Eagles beat Lithonia Bulldogs 42-10 on Oct. 24 at Hughes Spalding Stadium to win the Region 5-4A title and secure home playoff advantage—key players like Jack Weeks and Parks Kaiser helped in the victory.
