- ➤ Parents, teachers, staff and students met at Beacon Hill Middle School’s lunchroom on October 29 to express concerns about a possible elementary school closure as CSD reviews enrollment trends and funding needs. - ➤ DeKalb County officials announced Mobile Market Mondays—starting Nov. 3—to bring fresh produce to food deserts in South DeKalb. Commissioners Ted Terry and LaDena Bolton said the effort will aid SNAP recipients while urging state support amid federal funding issues. WSB-TV
- ➤ Decatur is working on a master plan for Oakhurst Park that will switch the softball and multipurpose fields, add a sand volleyball court, and increase parking to 135 spaces.
