- ➤ A cold snap has left many residents with aging furnaces failing as over 300 repair calls are expected today—HVAC crews from PV Heating, Cooling AND Plumbing and RS Andrews are working long hours in metro DeKalb County to fix blower motors and electrical issues. - ➤ The Grief House will hold the Griever’s Ball in the dairy barn at Legacy Park on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.—an event of art, music and community that will fund its year-long support services. Decaturish

- ➤ Decatur’s newest entertainment spot Roaring Social Decatur opened Sept. 18 at 101 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. The speakeasy-style venue uses mysterious entry procedures — a suspendered greeter shares a password — and offers craft cocktails, dinner, and live music nearly every night except Sundays and Mondays. - ➤ Atlanta rap icons Outkast were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday night—where DeKalb County native Donald Glover introduced the duo and a round of rock, paper, scissors set the stage for their speeches. - ➤ The City Schools of Decatur slowed plans to close a K-2 school after community members voiced concerns about the fast timeline. The School Board will meet today at the Elizabeth Wilson School Support Center — Education Planners now lead the redistricting process as board members review an extended schedule. Decaturish
- ➤ DeKalb County Schools approved new vestibules at all 138 schools to add extra protection for students, said Police Chief Tracey Whaley. The $35 million upgrade, paid for by ESPLOST money, will begin this summer—each school planning a design that fits its needs. Atlanta News First

- ➤ Skanska is removing the concrete canopy at MARTA Five Points Station as phase one of a renovation that will create an open-concept transit hub with a 32,000-square-foot mass timber canopy and three new pedestrian entrances—work that will add public art, communal spaces, and urban agriculture while keeping the underground station operational. - ➤ Residents near DeKalb-Peachtree Airport oppose plans to add eight hangars as county officials will soon vote on a $45M contract with Sky Harbor to accommodate larger jets.
