- ➤ A huge fire devastated South River Art Studios in DeKalb County early this week—destroying many artworks and tools—and prompting affected artists to launch GoFundMe campaigns as they work to recover losses. WSB-TV
- ➤ A fire burned the South River Art Studio on Fleetwood Drive in DeKalb County on Nov. 12, leaving many local artists without years of work. Sculptor Jonathan Imafidor said he was heartbroken when he found his studio in ruins — and one saved sculpture is set for Atlanta's Freedom Park. FOX 5 Atlanta
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The DeKalb County School Board recommended that Druid Hills High School remain on Haygood Drive and be modernized after community meetings highlighted the school's long tradition. The plan calls for a new 4-story building and a 2-story parking garage—costing $141 million—and the next steps will be discussed at the Board of Education meeting on Dec. 8. WSB-TV
