GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Due to forecasted freezing temperatures, DeKalb County will open warming centers today — including sites such as Exchange Park Intergenerational Center — through Dec. 31, with transportation pickups starting at 6:30 p.m. to help those in need. DeKalb County
- ➤ DeKalb County officials announced that litters of cats, dogs, and rabbits must be registered beginning Jan. 1 to enforce updated local pet control measures. WSB-TV
- ➤ DeKalb County will open four warming centers starting at 6:30 p.m. today through Dec. 31 to shelter residents against freezing temperatures; transport pick-ups from Frontline Response Headquarters will begin shortly after, and those in need may call 404-334-3610. WSB-TV
- ➤ Starting Jan. 1, 2026, pet breeders in DeKalb County must register litters of cats, dogs and rabbits within 21 days of birth to reduce pet overpopulation and provide free vaccines and microchips. The county commission passed the ordinance earlier this year to promote responsible pet ownership in the community. WSB-TV
