- ➤ On Aug. 27, DeKalb County announced a program to help senior homeowners remove dangerous trees at no cost. - ➤ A federal judge questioned whether Spanish-language journalist Mario Guevara, who was arrested covering a June protest and remains in immigration detention after his charges were dropped, should be released immediately—his lawyers argue his detention violates his constitutional rights while the government cites his removability. Guevara, a long-time reporter who built his career by livestreaming events, is now awaiting a decision after his bond was set and then held in abeyance. WSB-TV
